John trained with a national firm of Contractors, subsequently moving into private practice where he has specialised for the last 24 years in providing consultancy services to the building and engineering construction industries. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, the Institute of Civil Engineering Surveyors and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Within Driver Consult John is responsible for the Company’s UK Southern Region, as well as its work in the Sultanate of Oman.

John’s senior position in his profession has led to his obtaining over 60 appointments as Expert Witness in the High Court, International Chamber of Commerce arbitration, international arbitration and domestic arbitration. He has also been asked to co-author the book The Expert Witness the next edition of Evaluating Contract Claims, published by Blackwells. His areas of specialisation are the evaluation of claims for both time and money, including remeasurement, variations, valuation of work and claims for delays, disruption and damages.
