Michael gained initial practical experience by working in a private practice of quantity surveyors and cost consultants, where he also obtained working experience acting on behalf of several building and services engineering contractors. Since joining Driver Consult Ltd, Michael has prepared and negotiated a substantial number of final accounts and claim documents for contractors on commercially difficult contracts. He has also been responsible for live construction projects on behalf of various contractors from commercial risk assessments to final account preparation and negotiation.

In addition to Michael’s specialism in quantum, he also has an extensive working knowledge of various retrospective and forensic programme analyses, including time impact techniques such as snap-shot / window analysis and collapsed as-built programmes. Michael has also gained knowledge and experience over a variety of sectors, including building, civil engineering, oil and gas, offshore projects, heavy engineering, process engineering, telecommunications and nuclear. He has also acted as expert witness and expert advisor on a number of major projects.
